If Someone is Drunk or High, He or She is not Responsible for his or her Actions
This statement is absolutely bogus! If someone is drunk or high, she or he is ALWAYS responsible for his or her actions. In the first place they should not be drunk or high to the point where they can’t even function correctly and take responsibility for their actions. Also nobody should ever be high because it’s illegal and you could be fined and get arrested for it. Drinking too much alcohol is also not a smart thing to do either because you lose brain cells and you say and do messed up things.
My first example of when someone did not take responsibility for their actions was when some girls were drunk during the summer. They had drunken a bunch of alcohol and had gotten pretty messed up. They said and did actions that I know for sure that they wouldn’t have done if they were sober. They ran around like they were animals and broke things and were just so crazy. People found and the girls that got drunk felt so ashamed and embarrassed. I think that they learned their lesson.
My second exemplar is when this guy named Joe was high and drunk and he was totally out of his mind. He was running around being stupid and he just had no idea what was going on and he fell and knocked his front teeth right out of his mouth. He never felt it or even flinched. He got rushed to the hospital and got new teeth he felt so horrible the next day. This is a good story to learn from and he DID have to take responsibility for what he had done. He was stupid and just didn’t understand.
I once went to a concert and there were so many drunk people there and it was a awful time. This one woman and her friend were truly out of their minds. They were picking fights with everyone there and just being obnoxious. Then they started throwing up over everyone. They actually had to go to the police department and were arrested for being to drunk. I thought that that was so crazy. They should learn not to drink so much. They did not take any responsibility of there actions.
i like how you describe how the person is always responsible for his or her actions not some one else. how do you know that one person is resonsabel for his or her actions. is this one more personel. or do you just know
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because it was that persons idea to get drunk. They should have known better especially at there age. Peer pressure might have a big deal to do with this because half the its those friends that make you do things you dont want to do. It would still be that persons fault for listening to them.
ReplyDeleteI think that the example that stood out the most for me was your 3rd one that talks about how drunk women were being ridiculous. It stood out to me because I can relate to that. Especially the part where you mention the women were picking fights and throwing up on everyone. Im glad they got arrested, they get what they deserve. Just imagine all the younger kids noticing them
One thing the responce does well is it shows a mental picture of what your talking about. Its really descriptive and really good. Except the part where you mention "Then they started throwing up over everyone". That was pretty gross but out of all the essay was great.
I totally agree with you on this topic. People who go to parties and drink or get high should always be responsible for their own actions. They should never try to blame it on another person. It is their fault for even drinking or getting high in the first place and you should not be doing that at any age of your life.
ReplyDeleteI also think on your last example when you are at the concert and there were a lot of people who were drunk and high and they would not take responsibility for their own actions, that people should wake up and realize what the have done when they are drunk or high. People just do stupid things.
For your second example on that guy Joe that knocked his two front teeth right out of his mouth. That is good that took responsibility but that he still knocked his two front teeth out. But if that was me I would use this as an example to never do that sort of stuff again. That's my perspective. but all in all good work. :)
I agree with your arguement,Danielle. I think people are responiable for there actions, to an extent. You could be with some friends and they are drinking and smoking and you don't want to, but your friends pressure you into doing it anyways because its "cool" or what not.
ReplyDeleteThe Joe example showed why it isn't good to smoke or drink. But to me it seemed more like something a teenager would read to stop them from doing something bad. It also showed what some consequences of drinking or smoking is, knocking your teeth out and not even feeling it.
The best part of your response is the word choice and how strong you were in your writing, it was great but to me the word choice and the strenght of the words seemed then best. The best example of this is the first two lines in your response, " This statement is absolutely bogus! If someone is drunk or high, she or he is ALWAYS responsible for his or her actions." I like the word bogus. ^.^
I thought that you had a good point in this blog. I do agree that people should be responsible for thier actions, even if they are drunk\high, becuase they shouldn't be in the first place. I thought that the essay was pretty well written, though I do belive there were a few mistakes in there. Over all good job. =)
ReplyDelete1. Yes I agree with this all the way.
ReplyDelete2. When she went to a concert and people were drunk, and throwing up all over the place. Then they got arrested for being really drunk.
3. “nobody should ever be high because it’s illegal and you could be fined and get arrested for it. Drinking too much alcohol is also not a smart thing to do either because you lose brain cells and you say and do messed up things.” I think this is a great essay.
I do agree with what you had to say about the statement. There is no need for someone to agree with the statement. It is just irresponsible. I think your responsible for your actions wither you were drunk/high or sober.
ReplyDeleteI think that the third paragraph is the most persuasive. because it shows me and who ever else is reading it what happens if people get too drunk or high. It is the longest appearing paragraph. so i paid more attention to its wording and content. It is really good.
I think that the responses organization was really good. It went into the introduction and once that was over it went into examples of why the writer disagreed with the statement. But, one thing that she missed was a conclusion. It just ends with an example. It doesn't wrap up what she is trying to stress to the reader.
is there really any counter defense to this
